Teachers Angus Reid is currently leading Capoeira Brattleboro, and organizes the weekly open practice. He was introduced to capoeira in Santa Monica, CA, at Capoeira Besouro, where his first teacher was Mestre Batata. He also trained in Eugene, OR, with Profesor Salsicha, with Instrutor Marola (Joe Seitz)'s Omulu Guanabara group in Northampton, MA, and with Mestre Pinga Fogo of Capoeira Ginga Brasil. Jahnavi Newsom is the founder and former head instructor of Capoeira Brattleboro. She first trained with Capoeira Narahari in Palo Alto, CA, starting in 2004, under Mestre Beiçola, and later with Mestre Pinga Fogo, Ginga Brasil CDO. She has training in dance, yoga, and circus arts.
